A Sandwich a Day: Le Poulet Chevre at Financier Patisserie
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

I initially ordered Le Poulet Chevre ($8.00) at Financier Patisserie because I was intrigued by the combination of eggplant "caviar" and chicken. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a rather sparse schmear of the vegetable spread. But the well-cooked, still-tender chicken distracted us from this oversight. And the combination of goat cheese with red wine vinaigrette was a pleasant one. The baguette was flavorful and the right proportion of crunchy and chewy. Overall a light, satisfying sandwich for a mid-day meal.
