Back Forty's brunch menu is one of my personal favorites. Instead of all the usual offerings and a few interesting twists, it's 95% twists with a few kicked-up staples—all fantastically delicious. Even the servers are surprised by how great of a brunch it is: ask them for help, and they have just as hard a time choosing as you do.
But if you're stuck between options, know that the sweet corn pancakes with Benton's bacon are a solid choice if there ever were one ($12). Three tall, thick corn cakes are dressed with maple brown butter syrup and the smokiest, most perfectly crisped bacon—a bit of savory in what's otherwise a wonderfully sweet dish. Each cake is perfectly fluffy with crisped outsides and a springy, doughy center. It's the perfect contrast to the crunchy bacon on top—together, it just tastes like the South in all its sticky, sweet goodness. Be warned: if you doggy-bag some of the large portion, you'll inevitably be craving more later.
