In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

Are kati rolls sandwiches? (Well, if gyros and laffa are, why not.) We've long loved the kati rolls at Midtown's Biryani Cart, but hadn't gotten around to trying the offerings from The Kati Roll Company. The verdict? We were quite happy with the undo aloo, gently spiced eggs and potatoes wrapped in flaky, doughy paratha; the achari paneer was pretty great, too, the firm cottage cheese enlivened by a bit of spicy pickle. No complaints about the chicken or spicy mutton, either, though the latter tended to fall apart and crumble. Biryani Cart still has them beat on the price—all of their rolls are 2 for $6, while some of these climb to $5.75 each. That said, we'd make a return trip for that undo aloo.
