A Sandwich a Day: Bacon and Brie from Blue Dog Cafe

In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

How can one resist ordering this item off a menu? Two of our favorite, most indulgent foods... between two slices of bread? It doesn't seem that one can go wrong with a honey-glazed bacon and brie sandwich ($6.95). And sure enough, the Blue Dog Cafe version didn't disappoint. Served on a hearty white baguette, this sandwich tasted exactly like it read—a bold brie cheese, sweetened but not overpowered by delicious, fatty bacon. This sandwich was very rich; personally, I don't think I could have eaten a half, let alone the entire thing. But for a once-in-a-while treat, this sandwich is a great value and an indulgent lunch.
