Italians have them, Americans love them, Thailanders like theirs with the ice on top. They might be doused in passionfruit juice, laced with condensed milk, or darkened with brown sugar syrup. They're shaved ice desserts—delicious during the summer and sweeter than air conditioning at a fraction of the cost.

Today, we're on the lookout for the best Chinese/Taiwanese versions of shaved ice desserts in New York City.
