Who doesn't love french fries? We've long been looking for New York's best, and decided that the city's fries deserved more than a post—they needed a column of their own. Here's TGI Fry-Day, your weekly dose of deliciousness. Got a nomination? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

You've eaten french fries. And you've eaten salad. But have you eaten a french fry salad?

Extra-crispy ridged fries are the heart of this unusual and lovely dish ($14), offered as a special at The Grocery in Carroll Gardens. Tossed with meaty hen of the woods mushrooms and loads of flat-leaf parsley, these not-for-kids fries get zippy with a piquant caper dressing. It's so fresh and bright tasting, you could almost convince yourself that it's healthy. Almost.
