Last week we brought you the lunch special at Greenwich Grill in Tribeca—$12 for three courses. This week we're back with an equally wonderful deal from its sister restaurant Sushi Azabu.

Ed reviewed Sushi Azabu in 2008, and it's been on my mind ever since; dinner there is excellent, but too painful on the pocketbook for frequent visits. So I turn to lunch at Sushi Azabu, which is a ridiculously good deal. $12 buys the Traditional Japanese Lunch Set, all served on a single platter.

It starts with miso soup with a prawn head, and a large serving of the house salad, tossed in a light, sesame-touched vinaigrette. There's a hijiki salad with thinly sliced carrots and tofu, and oshinko pickled vegetables, including gobo and daikon. All this alongside sashimi, the star of the show—four pieces of salmon sashimi, and two each of tuna and kampachi sashimi. Order the four-salmon sashimi a la carte, and that will already cost the price of the lunch set.

The quality of sashimi doesn't seem quite up to their evening standards, but still significantly better than most sushi spots in this city. For $12 you could do a lot worse. Verdict? An excellent deal all around.

Note: Sushi Azabu also offers two other lunch special options: a six-piece nigiri set for $18, and a sashimi and roll combo for $20.
