A recent stop at ChikaLicious Dessert Club called to attention two relatively new desserts. First up, a Chocolate Sorbet Iced Macaron ($2.50): a mini-ice cream sandwich in which housemade dark chocolate sorbet is sandwiched between two picture-perfect macaron cookies. And second, the newest cupcake to join the flavor lineup: Raspberry ($2.50). As delicious as all their cupcakes, the raspberry comes with a center of raspberry jam, seeds and all, an extra bonus hidden inside the vanilla cake base. The frosting? Raspberry, of course: smooth and light, on the delicate side. In a city of cupcakes where frosting overtakes cake, ChikaLicious always delivers the ideal cake-to-frosting ratio of 3:1.
