A warm Saturday afternoon, two seats at tables facing out onto Amsterdam Avenue, and a duo of Nes Frappés ($3.95) at Artopolis for Serious Eats contributor Nikki and I. It was Nikki who introduced me to this drink, her favorite version in the city, and most similar to the ones she drank in Greece.

This was my first go at a Nes Frappé, and certainly not my last. Order it "sweetened with milk," and you'll be rewarded with a chilly and sweet shaken coffee concoction, topped with a tall frothy head. Stir and drink up. It's the sort of summer drink you'll want to linger over, chatting, or perhaps with a book in hand.
