Sugar Rush: Adirondack Creamery's Kulfi-Pistachio Cardamom

There are a few gelato and ice cream shops which I return to constantly over time, but sometimes the good stuff is found in supermarkets. Case in hand: Adirondack Creamery, upstate in Lake George, New York. I can find about five to six of their flavors at my Union Square Whole Foods at any given time—Chocolate Walnut Chip, Coffee Bean, Barkeater—but their best creation by far is the Kulfi-Pistachio Cardamom. You get the best of both worlds with this flavor, at the crossroads of ice cream and kulfi, the classic Indian frozen sweet. Cardamom spice is employed liberally and there are plenty of chopped pistachios studded throughout. What's not to love?
