Burgers may be the draw, but don't dine without a milkshake or two at Mikey's Burger on the Lower East Side. Milkshakes are $5 apiece, with Vietnamese Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate, Avocado, Sesame, Strawberry, and Black & White available. We gave the Sesame and Avocado a test drive, and, in both cases, liked what we tasted.

The avocado milkshake couples vanilla ice cream and a whole avocado, blended into a concoction that's thick enough to stand a straw in. Not too doctored up, and different from Vietnamese restaurants, using ice cream instead of the traditional ice and sweetened condensed milk base. The White Sesame Milkshake is fancier, though just as intense in flavor, dolled up with toasted pistachios and pişmaniye—a light as air, Turkish pulled sugar confection. Would we come back for another? Absolutely.
