Sugar Rush: Chocolate and Vanilla Eclairs at ChikaLicious

It's not often you'll find new menu items at ChikaLicious Dessert Club, but when they do show up, they're often a hit. I spotted chocolate and vanilla eclairs on the menu a few months back, but it wasn't until this past week that I decided to pass up on my usual Espresso Ice Shot Sundae in favor of their eclairs. (Both of them, of course; how could I resist?) And my goodness, have I been missing out.
They call them cookie eclairs ($3.25 each) because of that little extra crunch in the shell, akin to the double-layered shell method of Beard Papa's. The eclairs are piped to order, and chocolate is the superior of the two, filled with a lush, thick pudding—so rich, so lovely in the mouth. The top half is drenched in dark chocolate, so eat quick, lest the crisp exterior grow soft. And though vanilla eclair is less exciting, vanilla beans speckled in the pudding give it memorable touch. Powdered sugar replaces the dunk in dark chocolate.
