A few names that come to mind are Junior's, Eileen's, and my personal go-to, Veniero's. I assume you mean NY Style cheesecake, though I love the cloud-like version at Chikalicious.

Two Little Red Hens -- though I think their Park Slope branch (Ladybird Bakery) has a slight edge. Getting a slice out of the big cakes (at least 6") is a must; their little individual ones (4", I think) are a bit dry sometimes. And, I don't think they have them every day; call ahead to check before making the trek.
Full disclosure: I worked as a counter girl there for a year, many, many years ago -- but I love cheesecake and have sampled widely. :)

Eileen's - though admittedly I haven't tried that many. But I'm picky about my cheesecake.

Whistle Stop Desserts...known for their cheesecake...in Oceanside, Long Island.
I have never had Junior's Cheesecake so I can't say but those who have been die-hard fans of Junior's now prefer Whistle Stop

When they are fresh & not very cold, S & S and Juniors are on a par - very good NY Cheesecake, but Veniero's is pure sugar. I would like to see what using Salvatore's ricottta can do for a cheese cake.

S&S on W 238th St in the Bronx, and Cascon in Whitestone.

Juniors is very good, but I think I might like Carnegie Deli's more. I'll have to try them side by side sometime.
I also like the cheesecake at Peter Lugar. Maybe just because it comes with a big bowl of schlag.

S&S hands down!

No question about it, Peter Lugers! One of the waiters there once told me that they get the cheesecake from a local bakery but the bakery only sells the PL version to Peter Lugers and the recipe is a secret. I would give anything to get my hands on it!

A grand old black & white cheesecake, with a huge glass of cold milk!
