Sugar Rush: Blue Marble at Governors Island

If you plan to head over to Governors Island before the weather turns cold, hold off on packing dessert for your picnic because Blue Marble Ice Cream recently set up an mobile ice cream cart on the island—right in the middle of the Picnic Point area. Blue Marble is a favorite here at Serious Eats, and we've blogged about it it quite a few times in the past.

I stopped by on a Sunday and was quite happy to find a varied selection of Ginger, Coffee, Mocha Chip, Butter-Pecan, and Blueberry-Pomegranate, the sorbet of the day. No sign of Strawberry though, the best flavor they have to offer. Prices are right on par with their store locations in Brooklyn: $3 for a single-mini, $4 for a single, and $5 for a double-mini.
