This Friday, September 11th, kicks off the second annual NY Craft Beer Week, a celebration of local brews—and we couldn't be more excited. Along with the seminars, bar crawls, and tastings you might expect, a few highlights:
- Gotham Cask Festival: Sixty cask-conditioned ales, all tapped in one massive celebration, including the NY3, the official beer of the festival. [More info here]
- Beer Dinners from Zagat: including Per Se with Brooklyn Brewery pairings (!), Tabla with Goose Island Brewery, and our pick, a large-format feast at Resto with Ommegang beer. (We've stopped by Bobby Hellen's many-course dinners before. The man works magic with animals—and the pig and lamb from Violet Hill Farm are raised on spent grains from the brewery.) [More info here]
- Scary Brooklyn Dive-Bar Crawl: Behind the doors of Brooklyn's "neighborhood dives and workingman's bars," led by Joshua Bernstein. [More info here]
- Bike Brooklyn Beer Blitz: A twelve-mile bike ride through onetime brewing neighborhoods Williamsburg and Bushwick, with a few pints along the way. (Please don't drink and ride.) [More info here]
