In "Pulse of the Wine World," media superstar Gary Vaynerchuk will lead a seminar and tasting on the latest and greatest wines on the market, with a selection of French bites to pair. Vaynerchuk's authoritative but accessible style have won him fans across the world. Tickets are still available for the October 10 seminar, at $99/head, but we're giving away a pair right here.

To enter, just answer the following question in the comments: What's your latest wine discovery? Whether you've been exploring the best Chilean grapes or you finally found a first-class rosé, we want to know what you've been uncorking.

One winner will be chosen at random from among eligible commenters. Winner will receive two tickets to the event above. Both ticketholders must be 21 or older to attend. Contest will end and comments will close at 9AM ET, Wednesday, September 23, 2009. One entry per community member. The standard Serious Eats contest rules apply.

Recently tried Sydney Ann Pinot Grigio from this great wine place in my neighborhood. It's light and fruity, and relatively inexpensive!

my latest (well, re-discovered actually) favorite is JW Morris white zinfandel that I get from Trader Joe's for $4...its actually surprisingly realllly good and refreshing

I had been searching for ages for a Tempranillo called 'Nobul'. I finally found it in a local liquor store and it is as great as I remembered! Perfect for the fall season.

Prosecco, love the bubbles!

Alasia's Moscato D'Asti. It's fruity, bubbly, and refreshingly delicious. Finally found a favorite.

My friend recently introduced me to Red Truck Wines- Sonoma, CA. They are delicious!

Easily the Sparkling Red Lini Labrusca. I'd never had sparkling red until recently... I'm in love!

Realizing that I do in fact like chardonnay! For some reason, I had always avoided it.

South African Chenin Blanc. Never experimented with it before until I got a nudge from Gary Vaynerchuk on an episode of Wine Library. Love it!! http://eatandgreet.blogspot.com/2009/08/wine-and-cheese.html

I discovered sparkling rosé at a wine tasting and it was great!

Gewürztraminer

The more Long Island wine I try, the more I like.

I just had a lovely Austrian Riesling 07 from Grad Hardegg. Dry, fruity, great acidity and so smooth on the palate.

dr. konstantin frank's dry riesling (finger lakes) after the sommelier at momofuku ssam convinced me to give it a try. well balanced with a great finish. this changed my perception of NY wines. it's no longer on their list but astor wines carries it.

three buck chuck from trader joe's is surpisingly drinkable - esp the whites.

Quattro Mani, a Montepulciano. One of the best midlevel (~$15) wines I've ever had.

As a pizza enthusiast, I have been chasing down the elusive Gragnano. I've also been introduced to the highly regarded 2007 Chilean Reds.

Ciao,

Paulie Gee

The Show Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 - my best friend and I bought it for the funky label (and it was only $15), but it turned out to taste lovely as well!

My latest wine discovery is Tawny ports. Perfect to satisfy both my red wine and dessert loving sides at once.

I was visiting the scarecrow competition at Peddlar's Village in Lahaska, PA, and found a great dry red wine: '07 Proprietors Reserve Red from Chaddsford Winery.

Recently had a really good Russian River Valley Pinot Grigio from Terlato Vinyards.

I've been experimenting with the OR Pinot Noirs. Such a unique taste compared to the California grapes.

Chenin Blanc is a new find for me, I had always been a red girl.

Cava. Especially for the summer.

just tried a great malbec rose!

kermit lynch beaujolais - I tried it with Gary V., and it's my new fave red! If only I can find it somewhere in the city...

gruner veltliners and albarinos all summer long

Petit Verdot from Napa

Tannat from Uruguay...yes, that's correct, Uruguay. This is a red wine grape typically grown in southern France but now is considered the national grape of Uruguay. Taste is very similar to Malbec and will pair well with the same types of foods that you would pair with Malbec. Hard to find as imports from Uruguay are limited.

I'm not fond of Garnachas (Grenaches), but I recently uncorked a Cariñena / Syrah / Garnacha blend from Spain that was pretty good.

oh, i'm not alone in this it would seem, but prosecco. :)

gewurtztraminer

Concha Y Toro Terrunyo Carmenere!

Rocca Bella's Negroamaro, from Puglia, 2008

I love Torrontes! Cheap, fruity and fragrant. Great for summer drinking and paired with spicy food. If you like Gewurtztraminer you should give it a try.

Goats du Roam

Dr. Beckermann Riesling Spatlese

My greatest recent wine discovery is not a single grape or vintage, but WinesTillSoldOut.com , a website with a different offering each day at about 50% off the lowest online price, including delivery.

2004 Lavradores dei Feitoria Tres Bagos Douro, Portugal

lambrusco! i hear bubbly reds

it was a summer discovering prosecco.

Hill of Content Shiraz from Appellation Wine Store is my favorite wine right now and a great discovery.

Sparkling shiraz, so great

Rieslings from Upstate NY! Fin Cabernet

fruit-based dessert wines

Any wines from the Finger Lakes region around Ithaca - my favorite is Six Mile Creek Vineyard.

Three buck chuck. I also discovered that rose is kinda gross.

Grüner Veltliner!

Trockenbeerenauslese. It was a gorgeous dessert wine. Too bad I can neither afford it regularly nor pronounce it.

sparkly red wines. kinda delicious.

I have been having a love affair with the grape tempranillo!

Swedish Ice Wine......blergh, a little too sweet for me.

Priorat from Spain blew my mind! Big, tight and tastes like the soil it was grown in. Love love love.

I dont have a great wine discovery of late, since I tend to just keep trying new ones. My favorite idea of late has been to just buy a different appropriate wine under $12. I have found so many great ones

I recently tasted my first white Bordeaux. Scrumptious!

A full-bodied red wine from Portugal called "FP" Filipa Pato "Ensaios", Baga. I found it at Astor Wines
