Taco Trio from The Brothers L&C Latin Fast Food Truck

The Brothers L&C Latin Fast Food Truck on 18th Street and 6th Avenue doesn't seem to specialize in tacos—their printed menu mostly consists of sandwiches, breakfast goods, and pastries—but how could you resist their hand-written, fluorescent green sign touting "SPECIAL TACOS"? I couldn't. And choosing tacos was easy since they only have three kinds—beef, pork, and chicken. You can get one for $2.50 or three for $7 (hell yeah, save 50 cents). I went for all three.

Three of these larger-than-average tacos will leave you absolutely stuffed. (Not that I'm complaining.) Each one is made of two corn tortillas that will probably be weakened by meat juice by the time you carry the tacos to your final destination, but it won't be too messy since they're all wrapped in wax paper and snuggled together in a foil-lined container. The tacos are generously stuffed with moist, shredded meats topped with chopped cilantro, onions, and hot sauce. They also throw in a couple of lime wedges on the side. I didn't prefer any one meat over the others; I mostly liked that I had three kinds to alternate between.
Since it's easy for me to get to from work, I'm sure I'll be back for another taco trio. Besides, there are tortas and burritos to be had.

I've always wondered about this truck, since I often run up to Adorama on my lunch break, and it's right there. Always. Beckoning me. But I walk on, knowing I have that lunch I brought from home, and convincing myself it won't be as yummy as the fare from the taco truck in my neighborhood.
Now, I feel the cosmos urging me. Or, rather, I feel confident that next trip for photo supplies will result in delicious torta consumption rationalization. Yum!

@Robin -- wtf! This is right by my work. Where do you work, and why have we never met up for lunch if you're so close by?
