This time of year, almost every day brings another roundup of summer sweets, but Metromix's "Oddball Frosties" has one we're dying to try, from the Pars Grill House and Bar:

Thin springy rice noodles are served cold on a bed of crushed ice, dressed with rosewater syrup and rounded out with a mound of saffron ice cream and pulverized pistachios. What could potentially be cloying—floral additions often overwhelm—is surprisingly light and avoids the dreaded mouthful-of-perfume effect.

Noodles, rosewater, saffron, pistachios—definitely a few of our favorite things.
