Momofuku Ssam Lunch Prix Fixe: Still A Great Deal, Now With More Choice

Having lunch at Momofuku Ssam Bar today, I noticed minor changes to the lunch prix fixe menu that I raved about back in January. The Kimchi Apple has been replaced by the Sichuan Beef Tendon, shown above. The spicy dish is comprised of tender slivers of tendon, mango and peanuts, served cold. The tendon is silky and noodle-like; indeed, a server I am friendly with told me about a customer who once ate the dish and then complained that it contained no beef.

Desserts have been updated as well, with a choice of two, where before you had but one. Choose between the ice cream pie with its Cap'n Crunch crust and tart strawberry topping, or the Thai iced tea parfait with a tangy lemon mascarpone sprinkled with almond tea crunch. Both reconfirm to me Christina Tosi's true genius.
Still a great deal; now with more choice.
Lunch is served 11:30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., 7 days.

This place sounds delicious! There is nothing better than a great prix fixe, especially at lunch when prices are lower anyway. The desserts are calling to me right now...the thai iced tea parfait would really hit the spot! Thanks for the tip.

Had this last week. Went with Pork Buns, spicy rice cakes and the ice cream pie. First off, its a crazy amount of food. Second, I surprisingly loved the ice cream pie. the corn ice cream was fantastic

My brother had their prix fixe and said he left hungry. Personally, when I go to Ssam I just order like mad, because the portions are so small, and then try to not look at the check. Haven't tried the menus yet. I only feel like I'm getting my money's worth when I eat at Ko.

@Simon I can't imagine anyone eating what ESNY1077 had and leaving hungry. But on the other hand if you order the pickles, branzini and parfait you are talking about a significantly lighter lunch. Still a good value at $25.
