Dessert Truck Looking for a Store of Its Own

20090818desserttruck-truck.jpg

After an unexpected clash with the city, finding its permit no longer valid, the Dessert Truck is now looking for a stationary store to call its own. "We're basically looking for a space right now," Jerome Chang tells Fork in the Road. "I'm confident we can get one, but there's nothing definite. We're looking in the West and East Village and Lower East Side."

Any suggestions for a new, less mobile name?

Dessert Shack...kinda rhymes with Dessert Truck

I like Dessert Shack. I think the key is to keep it really low-key. If they get a nicer sit-down place, they'll probably have to raise prices to accommodate the increase in operating costs (rent, dishes, washing the dishes, waitpeople). I think their success has largely to do with the fact that they offer more upscale desserts in a downscale setting.

for now, dessert stuck.

Dessert Truck: Landed

Dessert Truck Stop

Can you get a license in Hoboken instead? And you can join The Krave Korean BBQ Truck

dessert store

I'm down with BooRadley...and would like to counter with my own name :
Red Tape Truck..or for a more permanent location, One Over The CooCoo's Nest.

I can't believe they took away the Trucks permit. YOU SUCK NYC!
If right down the street there is a pizza truck, right off 55th and Mad, why couldn't there be a Desert Truck. WHo the hell eats pizza made in the back of a truck, YUK!
