Kids' Restaurant Week
A few months ago, new daddio Zach Brooks declared that restaurants should implement a baby seating. While he loves his street meat (which he probably pulverizes into a baby-friendly paste for little Harry), Zach misses dining out at nicer places with his wife, without worrying about a food or drool projectile landing on his neighbors.
Well, Zach is one happy man right now, strategizing reservations for Kids' Restaurant Week from June 20 to 28 in New York City (with the same dates set for Chicago, and June 13 to 21 in Washington D.C.).
The dinner seatings, from 5 to 7 p.m., respect bedtime parameters. Grown-ups get a normal prix-fixe dinner for $29, much like normal Restaurant Week, but kids (11 and younger) just pay the price of their age. That means Harry walks away with a 50¢ meal! Of the roughly 30 participating restaurants, Zach is leaning towards Telepan and other fancy-types since he could probably get away with the others on normal weeks. Telepan hasn't finalized the menu yet, but they are envisioning pasta for the little ones.
