Cucumbers from the Queens County Farm Museum

Before heading over to the Javits Center for the Fancy Food Show (report to come later this week), I made my way out to Williamsburg to attend the second annual UnFancy Food Show, a smaller counter-celebration to the huge zoo of a convention in Manhattan, which spotlights local New York City foods and flavors instead. Don't let the name fool you, there was plenty of fancy food offered, but the mood was casual and relaxed and the sun shone throughout the day.

Rachel Mark Devine of Salvatore Bklyn was on hand serving up a wonderful imported prosciutto over her delicious homemade ricotta.

The Queens County Farm Museum was on hand with produce produced exclusively in Queens. To be any more local it would have had to have been produced in Brooklyn.

Sweet Deliverance NYC

Kelly Geary of Sweet Deliverance NYC had some sensational beef handpies, like this one with peas, carrots, and a Grafton cheddar crust.

Rachel Graville of Gerald Jerky debuted a peppery beef jerky. While they have no website yet, you can reach them via email at geraldjerky[at]gmail.com

The new Mama O's Kimchi was serving up kimchi salsa alongside more traditional pickled cabbage offerings. How good does kimchi salsa on a Korean taco sound?
