Sugar Rush: Pistachio Cupcake at Pinisi Bakery

At Pinisi Bakery in the East Village, the pistachio cupcake involves a smother of sweet cream and toasted pistachios. This photo speaks for itself—delicious!

The pistachio cupcake really is as tasty as it looks.
From NYCFoodGuy.com:
"A deliciously green, pillowy cupcake strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and pistachio. It’s crowned by light cream cheese frosting sprinkled with chopped pistachios, the latter of which adds a little crunch to contrast the airy cake."

Most of the menu is Eurocentric, reflecting the chef-owner's training and earlier career, but he still prepares at least one Southeast Asian specialty, in keeping with his heritage and the restaurant that preceded Pinisi.
