Sugar Rush: White Dream at Hummus Place

What's in a "dream," you ask? Malabi, the Middle Eastern dessert of vanilla rose flan, that's been frozen and topped with shredded coconut, toasted nuts, and grenadine. So instead of the expected jiggly flan texture, this one is firm. The toasted bits on top add a nice crunch and thankfully, the rose flavor is subtle and not like eating potpourri. The fluorescent reddish-pink goo on top (the "traditional Malabi sauce" AKA grenadine) adds little taste, and looks like it could cause cancer but that threat aside, this is a nice dessert to top off a bowl of hummus.
