Quote of the Day: On French Fry Mediocrity
Mediocrity creeps upon all human activity, but it is astonishing how often something simple to do in a good way, like making French Fries, is performed with what seems a deliberate mediocrity in venues that pass themselves off to the world and justify their very existence by defining themselves as fine. Whenever you pay more than ten dollars for a meal in Manhattan or Brooklyn you should be justified in dispatching the waiter down the road to a nearby diner or chain to procure superior French fries. —Christian Lorentzen (a man after Ed Levine's own heart)
