Sugar Rush: Panettone Bread Pudding at Otto

Those who are steady readers of Sugar Rush on Serious Eats New York know of my great affection for Otto's gelato copettas. I keep a sharp eye out for menu changes and make sure no gelato flavor or copetta is left uneaten. It's a hard job, but someone must do it, right?

The Otto dessert menu is oft sprinkled with sweets of the non-gelato based sort that are definitely worth checking out. It's a shame the warm apple crisp and candied cranberries has so quickly come and left the menu, but do not fret, for there is much happiness to be discovered in the panettone bread pudding. Each order comes in a little round bowl with the warm custardy, fruit-speckled pudding baked right in. For dried fruit and nut fans, this is your number. Avoid if you're not. It's topped with cinnamon gelato with raisins folded in, and finished with dulce de leche. It's a love or hate affair—I surely love it.
