Sugar Rush: Ho Hos from Bouchon Bakery

To celebrate our second birthday today, we had what Raphael so accurately called "chocolate burritos." Coated in a chocolate shell, the little rolled-up swirls of chocolate cake and whipped cream are Bouchon Bakery's take on Ho Hos. Best of all, they come in foil wrappers, so they really do mimic burritos! Thomas Keller loves nostalgia-oriented desserts; this joins his peanut butter cups, caramel apples, and Oreo-reminiscent "TK-Os." In a fantasy world, gas stations would stock these instead of the regular Hostess cakes.

More a Yodel than a HoHo, I'd say.

These were awesome. I am not a dessert dude, but I have loved almost every dessert/sweet item that I've had from Bouchon. With the exception of its bûche de Noël.

These look seriously tasty.
Look exactly like hoho to me.
I don't think they had yodels where I grew up.

@ floretbroc - I was going to say the same thing! (Although Ho Hos and yodels are pretty much the same thing made by different companies)
But these do look like fancy pants yodels! Such an underrated snack cake. My grandma used to have those for us in her freezer... so great.

It's funny that this French bakery does such amazing turns on American classics. Bouchon's Nutter Butter is pretty yummy, too.

I visited Bouchon for the first time on Friday; what a delight. Service was a bit compromised, perhaps due to the swarms of lunchers, but I enjoyed myself. I splurged on tons of macarons (the first I've ever had with such obvious butter cream filling, but delightful nonetheless) for the ladies at the store I work at, and the ho ho was a fun treat as well. I love the wrapper... Makes it a lot easier to eat!
