City Bakery Turns Boozier Friday

Blondie was just looking for a virgin hot chocolate when she noticed the beer taps at City Bakery. Say whaa? Starting tomorrow, they'll have a happy hour menu with wine and beer (like Brooklyn-bred Kelso and Sly Fox from Pennsylvania), served Monday through Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. Still on the early side for post-work merrymaking, but we'll take it. Upon calling just now, they wouldn't share menu details (it wasn't ready yet), but we'll check-in again tomorrow. Their mac and cheese, of course, will be involved.

The beer geek in me obligates me to list out all the taps in this photo (left to right):High & Mighty High & Mighty Stout, Kelso St. Gowanus Belgian Golden Ale, Sly Fox Phoenix Pale Ale, Kelso Pilsner.

I've never had the St. Gowanus so a trip to City Bakery (for beer!) might be in order.
