Every Wednesday we'll be posting delicious educational opportunities in the New York for the approaching weekend and the following week. All classes listed still have openings, but if you hear otherwise, please let us know.

'Inside New York Chocolate: A Factory Tour' with ICE
Saturday, October 11, 12:30 to 6:30 p.m., $60
A tour of NYC's finest artisan chocolatiers with historian Alexandra Leaf, which meets in front of the Ghandi statue in Union Square. Students will visit Tumbador Chocolates in Sunset Park, Brooklyn; Christopher Norman Chocolates in the Financial District; Kee's Chocolate in the Village. Tours are for students 18 and older, rain or shine, lunch not included, and bring a Metrocard.

'Taste of the CIA Cooking Fundamentals: Grilling & Broiling'
Monday, October 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., $225
This hands-on class provides instruction for grilling and broiling meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables; you'll prepare a grill for cooking, "mark" your items, and discover techniques for glazing and finishing your food.

Evie Failla, founder of Evie's Organic Edibles, hosts a demo class for parents who want to introduce their children to more flavor, and more vegetables. Sherry Seminar at Terroir Wine Bar
Tuesday, October 14, 6 p.m., $60
Terroir celebrates Sherry month throughout October, beginning with one of their legendary classes focusing on vast range of sherries, "from the salty tang of a bone dry Manzanilla to the piercing acidity of a Fino" and beyond. Paul Grieco should be quite a teacher--he composed a thesis on the subject. Get there early for the 5-6 p.m. Happy Hour and enjoy a free glass.
