Nobu's Jessica Isaacs Will Open Bakery/Cafe in Jersey City in Early 2009

Green tea sandwich cookies by Jessica Isaacs.
You might be familiar with her unique creations at Nobu and Nobu Next Door, and tentatively in February 2009, pastry chef Jessica Isaacs will be opening Cocoa, a bakery/cafe/restaurant across the Hudson in downtown Jersey City. As a resident, I'm ecstatic; while there are cafes that sell pastries in the area, there is no bakery making high-quality items in-house like the ones Isaacs can produce.
So, what kinds of desserts will you find at Cocoa? "I don’t think I will be following the same blueprint [as Nobu], and will work more closely with traditional items, but they will definitely have my own take on them—you will know when you bought something from Cocoa." Keep this one on the radar—it will no doubt be worth the fifteen minute PATH ride from Manhattan.
