Welcome Edible Manhattan

20080908edible.jpgIf you're a serious eater you are probably familiar with one of the 38 editions of the Edible Communities magazines published all over the country. No other magazine group we know of covers local, sustainable, seriously delicious food as comprehensively as they do.

The Edible Communities mission: "To transform the way communities shop for, cook, eat, and relate to the food that is grown and produced in their area."

Today we want to welcome the 39th and latest EC creation, Edible Manhattan. We're especially proud to have a Serious Eats:New York column appearing in it.

What will serious eaters find in Edible Manhattan? Plenty.

On page 17 you'll find my pick for two of the best breakfast sandwiches on the island; on page 19 Regina Schrambling has a day in the life of the Upper East Side cookbook store Kitchen Arts and Letters; and on page 38 Chef Dan Barber tells the story of how his pastry chef inspired the current Blue Hill cheese plate. The whole magazine is a worthwhile, fun read. We look forward to future issues and participation in the Edible Communities community.

You can find Edible Manhattan at Whole Foods Market, Barnes & Nobles, Border's, and various delicious destinations all over the city. Or subscribe at ediblemanhattan.com.
