Observer Top Ten Wine Bar List: Maybe They Were Too Drunk To Get It Right

Terroir
As many serious eaters (and the good folks at Eater as well) have noticed I love top ten lists. But only if they bear some semblance to reality, or at the very least can be easily defended or justified. The Observer's top ten wine bar list doesn't pass the smell (or the nose) test. No credible top ten wine bar list could possibly exclude Terroir, Casellula, or Gottino. I am sure they left out other worthy spots, but right now I am so aghast about their list I can't think straight. What about it, serious eaters? What wine bars would you put on your top ten New York wine bar list?

I like Terroir, but my favorite is Casellula, hands down. I love that place... definitely should not have been left off.

Agree with The Observer for Enoteca i Trulli. It has a great list and always has a good Aglianico by the glass which i love and is rarely on menus let alone by the glass and also enjoy the flights on occasion. Plus you always have the option to grab a pasta from the full i Trulli menu. Other favorites include Terroir, Bar Jamon and Pata Negra. I'd throw Bar Carerra on there too, assuming you can snag a seat at the bar.

I'd say Pata Negra, Bar Carrera, Bocca di Bacco, and Felice.
