Lunch w/ Front Studio has the low down on Sage American Kitchen's carrot cake cupcakes: "The cake is almost always moist and all of their frostings have a wee bit of cream cheese that distinguishes them from everyone else." Available at many locations around the city, this particular cupcake was purchased at the McNally Robinson Tea House in SoHo. 52 Prince St, New York NY 10012 (nr. Lafayette; map)

Is this the same Sage American Kitchen in Long Island City? I thought it was a restaurant because there are always tables and upended chairs inside, but I've never seen it open. I'm glad to know they're doing retail and aren't just an empty storefront.

Sage American Kitchen has a catering arm that does deliveries in the city to local businesses. It sounds like they are doing some good business, too. I used to be the manager at McNally Tea House, and they were always generous with the samples.
