  • They are more expensive than Chinatown, but the dumplings at Eton's in Carroll Gardens are really good [Food in Mouth]
  • The braised veal breast with sweetbreads, peas, carrots and Hen of the Woods mushrooms at Hearth is "hearty and earthy" [Writing With My Mouth Full]
  • The Deluxe Food Market in Chinatown is a great place to get cheap lunch [Fork in the Road]
  • The whelks at BLT Fish are chewey and meaty and taste like the ocean (in a good way) [Umamimart]
  • The warm veal and goat cheese terrine at the Modern's Bar Room is "sublime" [Always Eating]
  • Casellula matches each cheese with a perfect condiment [Salty/Savory/Sweet]

You can’t compare the dumplings from Chinatown to the ones in Little Odessa! Ordering off the menu at Rasputin Restaurant in Brooklyn, we had amazing dumplings with meat. The plates went like hotcakes, along with their amazing pirogies and Chicken Kiev. Rasputin’s menu has a large portion devoted to French and Asian Fusion cuisine, but when you want to party like a Russian, they can supply you the real Russian foods that melt in your mouth.
