20080610-flay.jpgName: Bobby Flay
Location: New York and beyond
Occupation: Chef

Favorite comfort food? Cheeseburgers.

So what's your favorite burger then? J. G. Melon.

What about your guilty pleasures? Ice cream, especially frozen custard.

Any food you won't eat? Brains.

Is there anything you wish you could cook better? Pastry and breads in general.

Everyone has a go-to person they call for restaurant recommendations. Who's yours? My business partner, Laurence Kretchmer. He's always up on the new spots that have opened.

And what's the best recommendation he's ever given you? Too many to mention.

What is your favorite meal of the day and where do you get it? Brunch at Morandi.

Describe your perfect meal. A medium-rare burger with double American cheese from J. G. Melon, black pepper fries from Bar Americain, and an ice cream sundae from Shake Shack.

What would you like to try but haven't yet? I think I've tried everything I want to try ... so far.

Most memorable New York City meal? My wedding at Daniel. It was one for the ages

Best pizza in the city? Mimi's. It's what I grew up on!

Favorite bagel? H & H.

Best late-night eats? Balthazar and Momofuku Ssäm.

Undiscovered gem? Nothing is undiscovered, the Internet has ruined that.

What is New York missing, foodwise? More frozen-custard stands and better Southern restaurants.

For the perfect meal question, where is the ice cream sundae from ....?? There's a space and then a period but no location.

it's a conspiracy! wake up sheeple!

Sorry, the missing info has been revealed!...it's Shake Shack. :)

Looks like it's the Shake Shack in NYC. The link is screwed up, but you can still see it.

These Meet & Eat articles are great. I love them!

Not only does it give a really nifty insight on people, it gives me yet more ideas or confirms where I should check out on my next trip to NY.

Cass, agreed. I must have a cheeseburger from JG Melon and pizza from Mimi's now.

I love this line:

"Undiscovered gem? Nothing is undiscovered, the Internet has ruined that."

oooh but i love that the internet has ruined 'undiscovered gems'!

I LOVE YOU BOBBY!

Wow! J G Melon, Balthazar, Daniel, Momo Ssam... a man after my own heart.

I tried not to like this guy. With his ballsy Alfred E Newman, "who me I can make that" expression. He has a huge sense of humor. He feeds his thin wife food laden in fat. I can't help but like him. All I can do is print out his recipes and adapt them. I can't think of anything more flattering that copycating him.

What I like about him is that on Boy Meets Grill, he'll usually grab a bite of something as he's cooking. Sometimes it's because he's testing the sauce or whatever, but sometimes he'll snag a piece of something while he's slicing or plating. That's what a real person does, cooking at home in their kitchen, and it makes him seem more natural.

And if he makes a plate for himself at the end of the show from the family-style plates he's composed, he looks like he's actually eating the stuff because it's good, not because he's supposed to contemplate the food and describe it for the camera.

Seriously...Bobby is an arrogant, rude, obnoxious, egomaniac. You want a talented BBQ guy...Jack McDavid...remember him on Chillin' and Grillin'...Bobby was continually criticizing and made fun of him...for cooking over charcoal instead of gas!

I dont get JG Melon as a Favorite burger? Nothing special about it.

I dont like to eat brains either, and I didnt get an invite to his wedding, WTF?
