The rink at Rockefeller Center was mobbed with the hungry and the curious last night at the annual Citymeals-on-Wheels fund-raiser. They came to mingle, to network, to drink, and to stuff their faces: this year's theme, "Crème de la Crème," brought in thirty star chefs to cook in tribute to the French masters who trained them.

Eater got the inside scoop (so to speak) on the gossip, and Gothamist took pictures of the chefs (including one of David Burke and our own Ed Levine!). But we spent the night focusing on one thing only: our plates.

Our favorite dishes—all from New York chefs, for some strange reason—after the jump.

Cod with Black Truffle Dashi. By David Bouley of Bouley. The liquid on this fish was one of the best sauces we'd ever tasted.

Braised Pork Butt with Smoked Onions and Tomato Molasses from Tom Colicchio of Craft Restaurants. One of the few dishes at the event without foie or caviar or truffles or lobster that still managed to impress.

Passion Fruit Crepe Soufflé, by Laurent Tourondel of BLT Restuarants, in tribute to Pierre Troisgros. Was it a crepe? Was it a soufflé? The texture, fluffy and custardy, somehow hit the perfect medium between the two.

Tomato Gazpacho with Tomato Sorbet and Basil. Made by Joël Antunes of Oak Room at The Plaza Hotel, in tribute to Pierre Gagnaire. Cold and creamy, made with fresh basil and basil oil.

Egg Caviar. Care of Jean-Georges Vongerichten of Jean Georges, in tribute to Louis Outhier. A shirred egg served in its own shell and topped with caviar—heaven.
