Tipster Dan Dickinson was in North Algonquin earlier this morning and brings word that the Liberty State Institute of Food Hygiene has shuttered the Cluckin' Bell there.
Yes, we're obsessed with the hyper-realism in the newly released Grand Theft Auto IV videogame. So insanely detailed is this game that its creators took note of the spate of NYC Department of Health closings in the last year and referenced them in Algonquin, the virtual counterpart of New York City's Borough of Manhattan.
If you're not familiar with the story—and, really, if you don't obsessively read restaurant gossip blogs why would you be?—last year, a real-life Taco Bell became infamous for its rat infestation. That incident prompted New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to go on a rampage of restaurant inspections and closings, chronicled gleefully on Eater in its DOH! Chronicles reports.
Thanks, Dan!
