Super Bowl Super Food Possibilities: Upper West Side
Posted by Ed Levine, February 2, 2008
It's not too late to get something good to eat while watching the Super Bowl. I think everyone should be eating delicious stuff while they watch the Super Bowl, especially because the Giants are playing in it this year. So over the course of the next 24 hours I'm going to pick out a few choice spots in various neighborhoods that will deliver to your door. Here are my Upper West Side picks:
- T & R Pizza: Solid regular New York-style slice pizza
- New Pizza Town: Excellent grandma pie
- Harriet's Kitchen: Excellent burgers, fries, and fried chicken
- La Caridad or La Dinastia: Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Ropa Vieja, Pork Chops, Egg Foo Young
- Artie's Deli: Solid Pastrami sandwiches, hot dogs, french fries, and try the Brisket Reuben
- Rack and Soul: Excellent fried chicken and surprisingly good if over-sauced barbecue
- Dean's: Very good thin-crusted Sicilian pizza
- Gray's Pizza: No delivery, but super-cheap, so you can afford the cabs to and from
- Patsy's Pizza: Good, not great coal-oven pizza that doesn't travel particularly well
- Hummous Place: Excellent hummous and housemade pita
I'll check in later with picks in other neighborhoods. Have I missed any spots worth mentioning on the Upper West Side?
