Tasting Notes From the Day After Thanksgiving

Tasting Notes from Yesterday:

I can't give you a report from the Burger Joint at the Parker-Meridian. The line was insanely long. The burgers there are good, but they're not that good, and the fries are nothing special at all. Plus, you can't even get a shake at peak serving times (which I assume yesterday at 1:45 p.m. was).

I ended up having a generic chicken on pita from a cart on 55th and 6th. The dry chicken was rescued by the white sauce. I've decided the mayonnaisey white sauce is the key to chicken on pita satisfaction.

We tried every pie Anthony Mangieri makes at Una Pizza Napoletana. My pizza-touring chef friends were blown away. As well they should have been. Anthony Mangieri is at the top of his game these days. Note to all serious eaters: Go have pizza at Una Pizza Napoletana.

There must be a brisket shortage in New York. Neither Fairway nor Citarella had any brisket to sell me for my family's pre-Chanukah Chanukah party. If the shortage persists, there will be panic on the Upper West Side come the actual Chanukah days.
